Steve Sarian, Priest, Teaching Assistant
Steve "Aishi" Sarian was drawn to Zen in the late '80's on a quest for spiritual intimacy. He began studying with Joko Beck and Nicolee Jikyo McMahon, Roshi in early 1991. In 1995 he pursued ordination with Jikyo Roshi as his sole teacher, and she ordained him in 1998. Steve has two grown children and is married to fellow practitioner, Carole. He is the Director of the Navy's Drug and Alcohol Counselors School, a 20 year Navy veteran, a Hospice Chaplain, a National Trainer for The Twilight Brigade/Compassion in Action, a seven time marathoner, and is the President of the Three Treasures Zen Community Board of Directors. In his travel/free time, he can be seen riding his Harley Heritage Softtail.
