Annie Pirruccello, Dharma Holder, Teaching Assistant
Annie Purna Pirruccello established her meditation practice in 1980 and has experience in Asian and non-Asian traditions. She began training with Nicolee Jikyo McMahon Roshi in 1997. Koan study is of particular interest and enjoyment to Annie, although she appreciates early Buddhist skillful means and experimenting with newer Zen modalities. Annie is Professor of Philosophy at the University of San Diego, where her teaching and research center on continental, global and comparative philosophy. She is currently studying Chinese and is married to physicist D. P. Sheehan.
